Food and toilet card
Do you have problems with not being able to eat normal-sized portions of food or problems with toilet habits due to your cancer disease or treatment? As a member, you can now order a card from us that you can show when you go out to eat, for example.
Many of our members have problems with being able to eat full-sized portions of food, which can cause problems when you are out at a restaurant and you are not allowed to order a child’s portion or a half portion as an adult. Similarly, many have problems with abnormal toilet habits that often require quick access to a toilet.
We have now produced a card that you can show on these occasions and which can hopefully provide some understanding of the problems.
Of course, we can’t guarantee that all restaurant staff (or toilet owners) will take this into account, but it is at least a little stronger proof of the problems than if you just try to communicate it verbally.
The text on the card says the following:
The holder of this card has undergone treatment which means that the person concerned can only eat limited quantities of food, and therefore for medical reasons is recommended half portions (or children’s portions) for all meals.
The holder can also, due to cancer, with very short notice need a lavatory. Please assist when possible.
We will also write the holder’s name manually on each card. The cards are of course personal and may not be “lent” to anyone else. The cards will also be plastic wrapped for best durability.
On the other side of the card there is also a text in Swedish:
Innehavaren av detta kort har genomgått behandling som innebär att vederbörande endast kan äta begränsade mängder mat, och därför av medicinska skäl rekommenderas halv portion (eller barnportion) till alla måltider.
Innehavaren kan också, på grund av sin cancersjukdom, med mycket kort varsel behöva uppsöka en toalett. Vänligen var behjälplig när möjligt.
